Went to the doc today...waited FOREVER...had my second ultrasound. The tech wouldn't let me look at the screen while she did her thing, which was pretty disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing him do all those crazy moves I've been feeling...

Then after waiting and waiting, my new doctor and I had a chat. I really like him! Super nice guy. He said everything is as it should be--it's a "textbook pregnancy"--and he doesn't have a single concern about either of us. That was really nice to hear. His size is right on with my due date, so there's no change there either.

Then he handed me the pics from the ultrasound. There were three of them, and (I'm not gonna lie) I couldn't tell what the heck I was looking at. When I asked for a bit of help, he said "See how it looks like a little turtle? That's his scrotum and his penis." Oh!!! That's all I got pictures of. So, I'll spare you this time. I don't really think everybody wants a peek at the goods.

I went to the restaurant to show Rex his boy's manhood on the way home. Just as I suspected, he was thrilled! And Danny happened to be there having lunch. So I sat down, had a little chitty-chat. It was nice!

Came home, got some work done, took a nap. Then, I talked to my buddy Laura while I made dinner tonight...she's losing her mucus plug. Oo-ooh. Sounds like her little one will be here soon!

Got some family drama, but I'll post about that later. Overall, I'd give today...an 8.5! Just a good, good day.

So...the baby is constantly on my mind. When I was first pregnant, it was so surreal. Just a concept, you know? Well, I'm passed that. Now, I'm consumed with baby things -- baby clothes, baby books, baby shows, baby websites, the baby's room, baby shower, etc. It's all I talk about, read about, etc. Yesterday the levity of the situation hit me...he's not just a baby, but a person. I haven't really thought beyond his infancy. Kinda stupid, right? I was overwhelmed when the thought ocurred to me that this is my life. This child is forever mine! It's a little too big to grasp right now.
